Volunteers 

Many opportunities to help our community and have fun. 

 

Departments

Education Supports Club members’ educational growth through field trips, presentations, and other learning formats.  Fosters educational development in the community with annual scholarship.

 

Fundraising Grow funds through community projects.  Our spring Floral Design Showcase is our largest event.  Examples:  Dining for Dollars, selling Bakers Square pies, Yankee Candles, bake sales, 50/50 raffles, Make It, Bake It, Sew It, Grow It.

 

Government & Community Affairs Builds awareness of all local, state and national government and community affairs.  Includes citizenship, legislative, law observance, veteran affairs and environmental responsibility.  This Department is the one in which we get involved with things such as Kiwanis Peanut Days, Northern IL Food Bank, the Hanover Township Food Pantry, voter registration and Lions Club eyeglass sorting.

 

Health & Safety Provides resources on current health and safety topics through presentations, group outings and newsletter tidbits. Health and Safety should not be limited to workplaces only.  It is important for us, in the community and in our households to stay informed, educated and practice among ourselves, to prevent possible injuries and/or illnesses.

 

Membership Responsible for recruiting new members through the Summer Celebration, Open House and other events.  Is also responsible for the roster, roll call, Secret Sister program, Fall and Spring Mixers, and other activities and events which develop stronger bonds and fellowship among current 

 

Social Focuses on arts and crafts, game days/nights, movies, performing arts, field trips and other social occasions

 

Standing Committees

 

Banquet Organize and coordinate the December and the Annual/Year-end banquets.

 

Handbook Compile and update the Club organization handbook and present to membership.

 

Hospitality Organizes monthly responsibilities for members to bring refreshments to General Meetings.

 

Newsletter Collects news items and publishes Club newsletter each month.

 

Philanthropy Responsible for designating fundraising money raised by the Club each year.

 

Publicity Works with print and online publications and other media to promote Club activities.


Revisions Maintain, review and modify Club bylaws.
